Genova as a Strategic Hub for Welding: The 2025 National and International Welding Days Successfully Conclude

01/07/2025

The National Welding Days have come to a close, and this year, exceptionally, they were held concurrently with the 78th Annual Assembly of the International Institute of Welding. A major success that, for a week—from June 23 to 27—transformed the city center into a true crossroads of technical and scientific knowledge.

More than 2,000 participants from 54 countries took part in 38 technical sessions, 19 international commissions, 7 workshops, 3 mini-courses, 4 competence hubs, and various standardization committees. Additionally, there were 29 sponsors and 11 associations involved. These numbers make it one of the most significant events in the sector to date.

The Municipality of Genoa was present with a dedicated desk showcasing the city’s projects and investment opportunities. Throughout the week, there were numerous opportunities for dialogue with both local entities and companies and professionals from across Italy and the world.

As highlighted by Michelangelo Mortello, President of the Organizing Committee, the event was much more than a technical meeting—it was a celebration of a legacy of expertise, passion, and connections. The sessions explored vital topics such as hydrogen, artificial intelligence, industrial digitalization, and the energy transition, with strong participation from technicians, researchers, operators, and designers.

Thanks to this event, masterfully organized by the Italian Institute of Welding, Genoa reaffirms its status as an internationally recognized strategic hub for welding and a technical reference point in key production sectors linked to it with a constant care in sustainability and innovation.
