Genova Global Goals Award 2025: a great success for the final event
On 20 November 2025, the Palazzo della Borsa Valori in Genova hosted the final event of the Genova Global Goals Award 2025, a contest for ideas (“Dream”) and projects (' Reality") dedicated to raising awareness among the local community and the organisations that animate it on issues of environmental and social sustainability, in line with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the UN 2030 Agenda.
The 2025 edition, called ‘Urban Green Edition’, focused on the role of urban green spaces as a tool to prevent and combat climate change.
Compared to the last edition, the number of projects submitted has more than doubled, as have the mentions for excellence in sustainable innovation, awarded both to companies that have presented major projects with a strong impact on the city and to schools that have distinguished themselves for their proactivity towards the themes of the Genova Global Goals Award and for the relevance of the content of their projects. Along with the projects, sponsorships have also doubled, reflecting the fact that more and more organisations in Genova are becoming aware of the project and believe in its values.
The special mentions and the companies that sponsored the event gave a brief presentation, sharing their experiences on the themes of the Genova Global Goals Awards, interspersed with speed debates by the finalists selected by the jury on 5 November.
Four projects won over the audience:
- BioTitan Nanotechnology with its innovative formula capable of instantly neutralising viruses and bacteria;
- M.A.D.E. APS with its eco-sustainable regeneration of abandoned spaces;
- Istituto Comprensivo Pra' which thrilled the audience with its recitation of the project “La spaventosa isola di plastica”;
- IISS Bergese-Rosselli, which focused on the urgent need to reduce food waste.
These winners, with their projects and their “dreams”, marked the fourth edition of the contest, confirming the city's growing commitment to a greener and more sustainable future.
