GENE.01: The new humanoid robot from Genoese startup Generative Bionics
Genoese startup Generative Bionics recently unveiled its first prototype humanoid robot, GENE.01, at CES 2026 in Las Vegas, the world's largest and most important trade show dedicated to technological innovation.
Generative Bionics has been researching humanoid robotics and physical AI for over 20 years; the goal is to translate scientific results achieved in academia into an industrial platform designed for real-life applications.
CEO Daniele Pucci outlines the company's vision, which is based on the integration of biomechanics, tactile perception, and real-time computing.
GENE.01 is the first model in a future series of humanoid robots, designed to move from research to practical use, especially in the industrial and healthcare sectors. The prototype presented to the public is in fact equipped with distributed tactile skin and balance systems inspired by human locomotion.
The company also announced that it is already collaborating with several industrial partners to test the robot in complex work environments and that the first commercial model is expected in the second half of 2026.
