Fusion AI Labs brings AI talent back to Genoa
Already seen as a hub of excellence in applied artificial intelligence based in Genoa, Fusion AI Labs has presented significant results in just a few months of operation. Launched in October 2025, the company now boasts 15 young professionals with solid experience, including at the international level: a result that demonstrates how Fusion AI Labs not only contributes to the creation of new skills, but also succeeds in a feat often considered impossible: bringing talent trained abroad back to Italy.
The company was founded in 2025 from the merger of Expert.AI, a leading company in the implementation of enterprise artificial intelligence solutions led by Dario Pardi, and AI Fusion Holding, led by Andrea Pescino. The goal is ambitious: to integrate academia and industry through a joint research model, which starts from scientific research and experimentation to arrive at concrete industrial applications and real use cases. The project focuses on multimodal generative AI and aims to create controlled experimentation environments to support businesses.
The CEO himself explains Fusion AI Labs' role: «We will essentially do three things. Our main activity is applied research: companies turn to us to develop solutions on specific topics. The second area is training: the first academy will start within a couple of months and will train young people who will be able to enter Labs or partner companies. Finally, our further objective is also funded research».
Looking ahead, Fusion AI Labs plans to hire 130 researchers and practitioners by 2028, with a goal of locally training 40% of new resources.
Andrea Pescino himself illustrates the next stages: «We announced our program in October and today there are already 15 of us. In June we should reach 34. But the most interesting aspect, beyond the numbers, is the high quality of the people who entered». A clear sign that in Genoa there is not only talk of quantitative growth, but of true excellence in the field of artificial intelligence.
