Leonardo S.p.A. launches “Green & Sustainable Supply Chain” project: fifty companies towards sustainable transition

19/05/2025

Leonardo S.p.A., a large Genoese company and one of the main industrial players at national and international level, has officially launched the new “Green & Sustainable Supply Chain” training project, a strategic initiative aimed at its suppliers to accompany them on a path of ecological transition and sustainability.

The project, an integral part of the education programme dedicated to the supply chain, initially involves fifty supplier companies, with the aim of extending participation to over five hundred companies by 2027. The initiative aims to strengthen the culture of sustainability within the Genoese economic fabric, contributing to the development of a more responsible and resilient industrial ecosystem.

One of the key elements of the project is its contribution to achieving Leonardo's decarbonisation targets. By 2028, in fact, 58% of suppliers - calculated on the basis of emissions - will have to define science-based targets for reducing emissions, in line with international standards for combating climate change.

The training course comprises a total of 72 hours of lessons, divided into two separate modules. Participating companies will be able to choose their own training itinerary according to their specific needs and level of maturity in the field of sustainability, thus ensuring a customised and effective approach.

Thanks to this initiative, Leonardo confirms its leading role in the sustainable transformation of the industrial sector, promoting a greener, innovative and competitive supply chain.
