The first summit between the mayors of Italian cities was held in Genova to inaugurate the Genova International Boat Show

17 September will be an important date for Genova, which will host the mayors of Italy's major metropolitan cities in the Salone del Minor Consiglio of  Palazzo Ducale, at the invitation of Mayor of Genova Salis, ANCI Liguria and ANCI Nazionale, the mayors of Italy's major metropolitan cities will gather to discuss sensitive issues such as budgets and security, almost two years after the large assembly of Italian municipalities organised in Genova, among the Waterfront construction sites, to facilitate dialogue and active coordination among Italy's mayors.

The occasion for the meeting of the main local administrators of Italy's major cities will be the inauguration of the Genova International Boat Show, a major annual event for the city of Genova, symbolising its maritime vocation and its ability to attract innovation and investment, now in its 65th edition, to be held from 18 to 23 September at the renovated former exhibition area of the Waterfront di Levante.

As Mayor Salis pointed out, this summit represents a moment of great institutional importance, aimed at highlighting the fundamental role of mayors in national politics, as they are often called upon to face complex challenges and take on great responsibilities that directly affect the lives of citizens.
