Genoa: A City of Knowledge through Science4Everyone
The Genoa City Council recently approved the Municipality's participation as a partner in the European project Science4Everyone. This initiative focuses on the promotion of scientific culture and aims to bridge the gap between citizens, students, and the complex world of research and innovation. The project will span 24 months with a total budget of €120,000, of which €115,000 is funded by the European Commission. Beyond the financial aspects, the initiative is particularly significant for its symbolic and strategic value, representing a major opportunity for local and regional collaboration.
The Genoa Science Festival Association is participating as a partner and leader of the local partnership, confirming and strengthening the city's central role in the European scientific communication landscape. The goal is to promote science as a common good, a tool for active participation, and a fundamental driver for sustainable and innovative urban development.
The program includes scientific events and outreach activities — such as lectures, workshops, and exhibitions — dedicated to the five EU Missions of Horizon Europe: oceans, soil, climate, smart cities, and cancer research.
By participating in Science4Everyone, Genoa positions itself within an international context, hosting European-caliber events on its territory. This path aligns seamlessly with the city's candidacy for European City of Science 2027.
