Genova Gentile Group joins Palazzo Madama for the Kindness Act

27/02/2026

On March 4th, the press conference for the presentation of the Kindness Act will be held at Palazzo Madama in Rome: “Kindness and Growth: the Kindness Act and the 13th BES for a more competitive and cohesive Italy.” Key speakers will include Senator Raoul Russo, Natalia Re (President of the Italian Kindness Movement - MIG), and the Honorable Maria Carolina Varchi (Secretary of the Presidency of the Chamber of Deputies).

The initiative stems from a legislative proposal put forward by the Italian Kindness Movement on November 13th, during World Kindness Day. The goal is to introduce kindness as the 13th BES indicator (Equitable and Sustainable Well-being), institutionalizing its role within the national political and economic framework.

The importance of this initiative lies in a simple principle: what is not measured does not exist for economic policy. Integrating kindness into the BES would allow for the official monitoring of social relations and trust levels among citizens—factors that are crucial for the country’s competitiveness.

The Genoa Kindness Group, officially recognized by the Italian Kindness Movement, will also be present at the event. This cross-departmental group within the Municipality of Genoa consists of about twenty employees dedicated to spreading a culture of listening, collaboration, and mutual respect. Their goal is to create more serene, inclusive, and productive work environments.

Genoa is leading the way in promoting kindness as a soft skill and an organizational tool. By strengthening cohesion between colleagues and stakeholders, the city aims to improve the quality of public services, encourage community participation in institutional activities, and promote widespread well-being by putting the person at the center
