Genoa Digital Port: Ge-DIX expands with new strategic partners and aims to be at the forefront of technology

Ge-DIX (Genoa Data Internet Exchange), as previously announced, is accelerating its efforts to transform Genoa into a ‘digital port’. It was launched in September 2022, promoted by the City of Genoa, Liguria Digitale, TOP-IX and major telecommunications companies.

In light of social developments in recent years, the aim is to facilitate data exchange for internet service providers through physical access to the network, where major operators can exchange data and information. This positions Genoa at the forefront of data routing efficiency and high-speed connectivity.

To support this growth and project the city onto the global stage, Ge-DIX announces the arrival of new strategic partners bringing high-profile technical expertise, following the entry of Nexim Global. Dime S.r.l. has joined the initiative to consolidate expertise in networking, cybersecurity and structured cabling; M.G. Tecnosoluzioni, a leading player in the technology consultancy sector; and Alet Communications, with proven experience in the sector and in ICT.

The first edition of NamexUnplagged recently took place, an event that offered the chance to meet those who build the Internet every day.

The star of the evening was Riccardo Luna, who presented his book, explaining how the environment that surrounds us every day has become an ecosystem dominated by opaque algorithms and increasingly concentrated platforms.

Once again, Genoa has established itself as a hub dedicated to embracing new technologies and keeping pace with social progress, promoting innovation and the country’s advancement in a field of technology that is growing exponentially.
