SMARTcup Liguria 2022

The tenth edition of SMARTcup Liguria, the business plan competition promoted by Regione Liguria and organised by FILSE, in collaboration with the University of Genoa, is kicking off event.

The business ideas competition was presented on Tuesday 2 August at the kick-off event organised at the Liguria Region auditorium. The call for entries will officially open on 6 August.

The SMARTcup aims to encourage and support the birth and start-up of innovative enterprises in order to support the economic development of the Liguria Region.

The aim of the initiative is to promote and support innovation through support for the start-up of new innovative enterprises and their consolidation on the market so that they can contribute to regional competitive development.

The winners of the SMARTcup Liguria 2022 competition will be admitted to participate in the national event "Premio Nazionale per l'Innovazione 2022" (PNI 2022), benefiting from organisational support and coverage of registration costs.

In addition, selected proposals will have the opportunity to benefit from specialised tutoring by FI.L.S.E., preparatory to the establishment of the company. The action will consist in providing future entrepreneurs with support and assistance for a better definition of the business plan with a special focus on funding opportunities suitable to support the initiative.

Business ideas should be related to the following thematic areas

1) Life Science&Med Tech
 
2) ICT

 3) Cleantech&Energy

 4) Industrial

In addition, business ideas may also apply for the following mentions special mentions 'transversal' to the four categories:

- 'Social Innovation' special mention
 
- Special mention 'Equal Opportunities

 - Special mention 'Climate Change'.
 
As part of the initiative, there is a special section for Subjects from from the University of Genoa who will also be able to compete for the prizes made made available by the University of Genoa.

By 12:00 noon on 12 September 2022, proposers may submit their application for participation in the SMARTcup 2022 Academy, preparatory for access to the next steps of the competition, by filling in the form at the following link.
