The deadline to participate in the fourth edition of the Genova Global Goals Award is 31 October. The contest, promoted by the Municipality of Genova in collaboration with the Genova Smart City Association, rewards sustainable ideas and projects for a greener, more inclusive city that is attentive to the circular economy, in line with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the UN 2030 Agenda. Applications can be submitted by filling out the following simple form: https://forms.office.com/e/Yr7Lae1b5n

The 2025 edition, entitled “Urban Green Edition”, is dedicated to urban green spaces as tools for preventing and combating climate change and protecting biodiversity.

The official presentation was held on 28 October at the Salone di Rappresentanza in Palazzo Tursi, in the presence of the Councillor for Territorial Marketing, Tiziana Beghin, the President of the Genova Smart City Association, Nicola Valentino Canessa, the Secretary General of the Genova Chamber of Commerce, Maurizio Caviglia, and some of the project partners: Metropolitan City of Genova, Talent Garden Genova, Axpo Italia S.p.A., Akzo Nobel S.p.A., Coccodè Creative s.n.c., F.I.L.S.E. S.p.A., Shop the Look s.r.l., JA Italia, and Fondazione A.P.G. Amadeo Peter Giannini Impresa Sociale, who supported the project.

During the presentation, the importance of collaboration between the public and private sectors, as well as between generations, for the future of the city emerged. The goal is sustainable economic development of the city, thanks to greater awareness among citizens and an increase in green spaces that improve air quality, in order to preserve the territory, combat climate change and promote the well-being of people.

The contest is open to citizens, primary and secondary schools, companies, start-ups, spin-offs, associations, organisations and institutions. The winners will be able to choose an urban redevelopment project, supported by sponsors, which will be carried out by the city's municipal authorities, and will have access to the following special prizes:
•    FILSE Prize: a 6-month programme at the BIC incubator for entrepreneurial initiatives;
•    Talent Garden Genova Award: “TAG FLEX” premium package with co-working spaces for entrepreneurial initiatives;
•    Coccodè Award: communication consultancy and restyling of the logo and corporate image for the winning project in the “BIG” category, “Reality”;
Genova Museums Award: access to the MEI (Museum of Italian Emigration) for the winning secondary schools and to the Lanterna for the winning primary schools;

This is a concrete opportunity to discuss recent important issues and contribute to urban sustainability, enhancing the value of the local area.
