The Luigi Ferraris Stadium is one of the historic temples of Italian soccer. Opened in 1911, it is currently undergoing a major renovation project aimed at bringing it up to UEFA Category 4 standards, making it suitable for hosting international events and integrating it in an even more sustainable and functional way into the urban fabric of the Marassi district.
The goal is to transform the stadium into a lively facility open seven days a week, equipped with modern and sustainable services, improving accessibility and the quality of the experience for fans, visitors, and residents. Strategically located in the heart of the city, the Ferraris is well connected to major infrastructure: 10.5 km from the airport, 0.8 km from Brignole station, and 1.9 km from the Genova Est motorway exit.
The project, with a total value of €74 million, is being developed through a public-private partnership model, with the Municipality of Genova retaining public ownership of the facility. The renovation is part of the city's strategic sports redevelopment program and is aimed at increasing environmental sustainability, energy efficiency, and urban use, contributing to the enhancement of the area and Genoa's sports system.
